NEW CONNECTICUT LAW TO DETER TEEN GAMBLING

A new law in Connecticut which took effect October 1st allows police to charge minors with a misdemeanor and a $100 fine if they are caught on gambling floors. Using forged IDs to get on gambling floors could result in fines between $100 and $500 and 30 days in jail.
There has always been the law prohibiting minors from the Casino floor. State Rep. Andrea Stillman, D-Waterford, said. "Now we have an opportunity to make the law more meaningful."
A story in the Norwich Bulletin reported that The Mohegan Tribe, who run the Mohegan Sun Casino unveiled an ad campaign Monday designed to warn teenagers of a new law imposing fines and jail time on minors caught on gaming floors.
