Rhode Island Judge Blocks November Casino vote

A Rhode Island Superior Court judge on Friday blocked a November ballot question that would have asked voters whether a casino should be built in West Warwick. Gov. Donald Carcieri went to court to block the question from the ballot, claiming it violated the state's constitution. The ruling from Superior Court Judge Daniel Procaccini on the proposed $600 million casino comes a day after an "advisory opinion" by the state's highest court stating the casino and the legislation authorizing it were unconstitutional.
