UPN to Broadcast 26 Week Plaza Poker Tournament

The Plaza Hotel & Casino is in the midst of the Plaza Ultimate Poker Challenge, a 26-week televised series of $1,000 + $60 buy-in no-limit hold'em tournaments, culminating in a final event that will be played for millions. Live play is well underway and is ongoing through Sunday, Oct. 31. There are 23 preliminary events, each starting at noon. Each winner of a preliminary event qualifies for the semifinals. Points are awarded for places 2 through 28, with the top 100 point-getters also advancing to the semifinals. Those are the only two ways to make it to the semifinals; you can't buy in to other than the preliminary events.
