Elmer Sherwin should consider changing his name to Mr Lucky. They say the odds of hitting the Megabucks progressive jackpot are higher than your odds of being struck by lightning. Elmer has defied those odds twice.
Elmer hit the $21 million Megabucks jackpot at the Cannery Casino in Las Vegas recently. While that is a feat in itself, he won it 16 years after winning the very first Megabucks at the Mirage Casino which he won in November1989. His latest win is about five times the $4.6 million he won back then. Mr Sherwin is 92 years old.
