Pennies Equal Profits For Casinos
Tuesday October 25, 2005
Slot players are enjoying the new penny video slot machines and this is spelling big profits for the casinos. Figures released by the Gaming Control Board in Nevada confirm that many players are switching from nickel machines to the new penny machines. In August players fed more that $86 million dollars into the penny machines and only $67 million in the nickels machines.
Part of the new appeal of the penny games is that they are extremely entertaining and have a high hit frequency. Of course the new "penny" slot machines are a far cry from their predecessors which required the player to feed in copper coins. The new coinless machines with their multi-coin, multi-line games can cost the player over a dollar per spin. The casinos hold on the penny machines are a little more that the higher denomination machines and this is adding to the casino's profits.
