Louisiana Casinos Making Comeback From Katrina

Even with four gambling halls still closed because of hurricane damage, Louisiana's state-licensed casinos continued to enjoy a post-storm boom in December, according to state police figures released Tuesday. The casinos won $208 million from players last month, compared with $175.8 million in December 2004. In November, gamblers lost $184.4 million, up from $167.1 million in November 2004…12 operating riverboats took in $177.3 million last month, while the three racetrack casinos won $30.7 million.
