14 Billion Profit Made From Net Gambling

Internet Gambling grew about 28 percent last year. ONLINE gambling revenues reached $US10.9 billion ($14.71 billion) worldwide last year even though betting is illegal in many countries including the United States, according to a survey by the research firm eMarketer. The report says that 15 percent of US Internet users visited gambling or sweepstakes sites at least once a month.
Another poll conducted by Harris Interactive says that 95 percent of s US residents never spent money at online casinos or other betting sites. The poll says that 47 percent are in favor o legalizing online betting and 53 percent were opposed.
These reports come a few weeks after MGM/Mirage MGM Mirage Chairman Terry Lani urged attendees at the Thoroughbred Racing Association meeting that casinos and racetracks that they should work together to legalize more forms of Internet gambling.
