Slot Revenue vs. Popularity
The article goes on to the site several reasons why the Mohegan Sun's slot revenue is higher. They conclude that the Mohegan Sun is closer for New York gamblers, closer to the highway and that they bring in the games the players want to play.
Anyone reading this article and taking it at face value will probably conclude that the Mohegan Sun is more popular than Foxwoods. However before you make this assumption you have to ask yourself one question, "Is the extra revenue due to popularity or are the Mohegan Sun's slot machines tighter than those at Foxwoods?"
I have visited both casinos on a busy weekend know that they seem to be equally crowded. I have no exact figures to back up my opinion but when I hear that one casino is making more money than the other with half the number of slot machines, the first thing that comes to my mind is the payback of the machines is less at the casino that is making the most money.

Oh how I agree with u…the only reason they are making more money with less machins as the payout is a hell of lot less…this I know Indian Casinos as I know them at least in Arizona….
When a slot machine is made in Nevada, it cannot have a “hold” in excess of 20%, is a 80% return to the players. Once it arrives out of Nevada, they can further adjust as they want, on that slot machine. That is the best reason to play only in Nevada, and read the Casino Player payback charts from the state governments.
Having lived and played in Lake Tahoe/Reno and ventured on a number of occasions south to Las Vegas my unscientific survey gives the players ‘edge’ (however you define that) to Nevada gaming. I like the Sun,,,have not been to Foxwoods.
only vegas seys the percentage indian such as foxwood , mohegan sun , turning stone in n.y. set their own profit they are not regulated . by any stae to change . gamble vegas forget the rest . john
well I live near mohegan and foxwoods. I can’t comment about foxwoods cause I hardly ever go to that casino but mohegan suns slot machines are DREADFULL! I was cash rich a while ago I walked in that place with a grand and in less than4 hrs I was busted! not a match not a 7 NOTHING! I have been several times and the dame thing has happened so I vote you should stay away from mohegan it’s a rip off…NOT GAMBELING JUST DONATING.
