Washington State Outlaws Online Gambling
This About.com website could be deemed illegal in Washing State. The legislation does more than ban online gambling. It also bans talking about online gambling-quite the communist move by legislators. The legislation specifically outlaws the passing of any "gambling information." Gambling information is defined as: information as to wagers, betting odds and changes in betting odds shall be presumed to be intended for use in professional gambling.
The Seattle Times reported that Washington State subscribers to Casino Player and Strictly Slots Magazines were informed by the publisher that it would not be delivering magazines to residents of the State. Apparently the publisher of these magazines fear they may be in violation of the law since they publish advertisements for online casinos.

ALL CASINOS. THE CASINOS ARE EASY TO BEAT IF SIMPLE MATH IS APPLIED.
THE AVERAGE MD DIES AT AGE 58 BUT HE RAKES IN A LOT OF MONEY. AND CHOPS 23 YEARS OFF OF THE AVERAGE PERSON, ASSUMING HE IS IN BED WITH HIS MD.
Because of the pending legislation in the Senate, I have let my blackjack website go until a decision is made. I can’t believe the State of Washington has gone ahead of the crowd and made this stupid law. I have written to my Senator and am hoping that the Neutrality Act will over-shadow Washington’s rash act. We have soldiers dying in Iraq in order to maintain our freedoms, and legislators here at home banning conversations. I can’t believe our government is getting so callous with it’s constituents.
this is ridiculous. as rusty rose said, this gestapo style crackdown on online gambling is a farce. call your senator.
What a joke Washington state is out of control!
This is what led to the law being passed in washington state. The law makers here couldn’t find a legal way to tax the online casinos as a Washington state business. So Washington State tried to get around the laws by having the online casinos apply for a business license and charge a fee to washington state players. That fee would be paid to washington state in place of the business taxes. In order to do that the online casinos would have no clue as to what to charge players. If they didn’t collect enough money from the players, the casinos would have to make up the difference. Plus who the hell in their right mind would ever pay a site to lose money on??It was led to “Just give us 1/2 of what you make off washington players and, we can order an audit of your records yearly to make sure your paying us correctly, plus you’ll cover the expense of the auditors. Do this or else”. Since the online casinos were unable to work something out other then to say kiss our overseas ass, that got washington state law makers really pissed off. The online casinos wouldn’t give in and the law makers said… O.K., have it your way, since you don’t want to pay us, were not only going to make it a crime for washington state players, but were going to make it a crime to even talk, promote, joke about, or anything that might mention an online casion name. AND, were going to make it a major crime with prision terms of up to 5 years and finds most will never be able to pay. So there, you don’t want to give us our cut. We’ll cut off your source.
