Ultimate Blackjack Tour

Monday September 18, 2006
I was really anticipating the first broadcast of the Ultimate Blackjack tour however when I saw the first episode I was a little bit disappointed. I have played in blackjack tournaments before so I have a basic understanding about how they work. I do not think the show did a good job explaining this to the average viewer and I think someone not familiar with how blackjack tournaments work may have gotten lost.

The other problem is the show was only an hour long so they tried to recap the majority of the hands instead of showing how they played out. I feel that they wasted a lot of valuable time profiling the players and the antics of Hollywood Dave that could have been better spent showing viewers how the game was played.

If you watched the first episode of the Ultimate Blackjack Tour I would like to know your opinion of the show. Vote in the Poll and voice your thoughts about the show/

Re: Ultimate Blackjack Tour
I was looking forward to seeing this, but after seeing the first two episodes, the whole thing just seems sort of silly and ridiculous, and the silly antics of some of the players surely doesn’t help.
In my opinion, when compared to the World Poker Tour or the high stakes poker cash games shown on GSN, the Ultimate Blackjack Tour isn’t even worth the effort to turn on the television.

I thought the show was great. I enjoyed the reality aspect of the show alongside the actual gameplay. It brings a whole new dynamic to gambling shows that i’ve never seen before. Thumbs up!

I’ve been involved with the show. In fact, I was the champion of episode II. I’ve seen previous attempts at televising blackjack tournaments, and this is definitely the best. It’s without question the most challenging from a player’s perspective, with the secret bets and elimination hands. It’s only gonna get better too.
