Barbary Coast Gets New Name
Wednesday February 21, 2007
The Barbary Coast one of the remaining older casinos on the Las Vegas Strip will disappear into history on February 27, 2007. The casino will close for a few days and then reopen as: Bill's Gambling Hall and Saloon.
The change is due to the new ownership by Harrah's Entertainment. The Barbary Coast was owned by Boyd Gaming who made a deal with Harrahs to swap the casino in exchange for 24 acres next to the Stardust which will be the site for Boyd's new mega-resort will be built. The Stardust will be imploded next month.
