Delaware to Allow ATM Move

Monday March 12, 2007
Back when casino betting arrived in Delaware, some folks were worried that gamblers might be tempted to overspend if the slots and the automated teller machines were placed too close together. ATM machines were required to be placed at least 25 feet away from the slot area effectively barring the cash machines from the casino floor. Because of competition from surrounding States, the Delaware "Racinos" requested that they be allowed to move the machines closer to the slot machines. At Dover Downs, slots customers have complained about the ATMs' locations in hallways outside the main casino. The new change in rules will allow the ATMs to be moved closer however they be located in places that force gamblers to take a break from the action.
