Essentials for Playing Blackjack

Thursday March 29, 2007
I am amazed at the number of players who will sit down at a table in the casino and play a game without first learning to play correctly. I was in Atlantic City last weekend and I saw several players betting $25 a hand at the Blackjack table and they didn't even know how to play basic strategy.

Blackjack is one of the best casino games to play. It can also be one of the worst games to play if you don't know the strategy of the game. A player using basic strategy can reduce the house edge to less than one percent. A player using no strategy can be giving the house an edge of 20 percent. Blackjack is not a hard game to learn. I have put together 10 Essential Things you should know about the game to insure yourself a better chance of winning.

Bill,

Despite the dirty looks and sometimes nasty commoents I get I always split 10’s when the dealer is showing 5 or 6 and it has undoubtedly worked to my favor. I know the whole speal about not jeopardizing an almost guaranteed winner but given teh fact taht you make hay in Blackjack through successful double and splits why are poeple so anal about it. After all, they do call it gambling.
