Everybody loves a bargain. What they like even better is getting something for free. Media research has shown that the just the word "free" in an advertisement will attract more attention than any other word. (With the possible exception of Sex, but I won't go there.) Getting something free has a way making us feel good about ourselves as if it increases our own self worth in some way. In many cases it also makes us feel better about the benefactor bestowing the free gift to us.

None of this is new to the casino industry who has been using comps for years to attract and retain players. The word comp is short for complimentary. Comps are freebies that the casino gives to its customers as a reward for their business. It is a way to promote good will and to entice player loyalty to the establishment. Learn more about comps:
