Popularity of Table Games Rising

Thursday June 21, 2007
There was a time when table games were the casinos primary source of revenue. They accounted for about 70 percent of all the money that the casinos made while the slot machines only made up about 30 percent. Those figures have been reversed and for the last 20 years or so the slot machines have contributed to the majority of the casinos revenue.

The new video slot technology has allowed the casinos the offer slot games with life changing jackpots. The slot makers were able to produce more entertaining games and attract the younger generation that grew up playing video games. As A Fairly regular slot player, I have seen many slots games at various casinos. I have noticed a huge difference in large payouts, or the number of what i call “tax slips” ($1200.00 or greater), on a huge decline. Understandibly, we all know casinos are a big business, and profits are a must for them to survive. In my
opinion, I think people are turning to table games for making their money last longer, and the fact the odds are involved, instead of percentages payed out in slots. I think this trend will continue, because it is intertainment we are looking for, but folks also want to know they have a reasonable chance for making a few extra dollars to enjoy. Isn’t that what there intentions are? Mine is. So as a regular slot player, like myself, I have to join in on the idea that folks are turning to table games, to make their inter-tainment money last alittle longer, by playing odd agains’t percentages. I know i will consider it now. What do ya think? Is my perception accurate?
Thanks for letting me voice my opinion.
