WSOP Setting Records

Sunday July 1, 2007
I just returned from Las Vegas where I had the chance to check out this year's World Series of Poker. The crowds at several of this year's events have broken the records set last year. There was a record 3,151 players in the $1,500 no limit tournament while I was there. The 2007 WSOP has already set attendance records for the largest ladies tournament and largest senior's tournaments of all-time.

There is some question whether the $10,000 main event will beat last year's record crowd of 8,773 players. With the ban on US players entering via the online poker sites it is questionable whether the record will be broken. However with the record number of players entering the preliminary events this year it just might set a new record after all. The World Championship No-Limit Texas Hold'em gets underway on Friday July, 6th. For all results and news visit the official WSOP website.
