Craps Regaining Popularity

Wednesday October 3, 2007
The game of Craps has seen resurgence in popularity over the last year. In the revenue figures released by the Nevada Gaming Board for July, Craps play in the casinos is 16 percent higher than it was last year at this time. The casinos hold or profit increased 28 percent over last years take. This has been due to an influx of new players who make some of the worst bets on the craps layout. Craps has always been popular among the action players looking for excitement and many of the new younger players are now discovering the game.

Craps has always been an intimidating game for new players and this is why many people avoided the game in the past. Playing poker in the casino was also considered intimidating but over the last few years with the increased popularity of poker, players are not as reluctant to try new games in the casino and Craps fits these young thrill seekers perfectly.

However many of these players are not taking time to learn the odds of the numerous Craps bets that can be made during the game. This is why the casinos have been enjoying increased revenue from the game. Some of the bets on the Craps layout such as the passline bet are among the best bets you can make in the casino. Other bets such as the hardway and other proposition bets are the worst.

I have always loved the game of Craps and it is great that others are discovering how exciting and fun the game can be. Craps is not a hard game to play. If you want to give it a try make sure you understand the game before you play.
