A Free Airline Ticket
Wednesday November 21, 2007
When I flew home form the G2E last Saturday I had forgotten that it was the weekend before Thanksgiving. I quickly remembered when I saw the crowds at McCarran airport in Las Vegas. I also remembered that flying at busy times of the year is the best time to get bumped from a flight and gain a free ticket. I was in no hurry to get home so I went to the ticket counter and volunteered to take a bump if needed. Sure enough my flight was overbooked and they took me up on my offer. McCarran is one of the few airports with free wifi access for laptops so I was able to get some work done for the next few hours waiting for my later flight. The best part is my next flight is now free. If you have the time taking an airline bump can be a great way to fly for free.
