Table Games Legal in West Virginia
Sunday December 23, 2007
At 10 am on Wednesday December 20th a two ribbon cutting ceremonies were held at the Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack in West Virginia to celebrate the opening of table games in the two establishments. After years of battling the odds the casinos can now deal Blackjack, Craps, and Roulette.
For years, West Virginia resorts offered horse racing, off-track betting on dog races and slot machines. Earlier this fall, after legislators approved slots in Pennsylvania, the West Virginia resorts responded with the introduction of poker, the first step in the expansion to table games. Now they can offer the full array of casino games to their patrons.
