Giants Stop Perfection
Monday February 4, 2008
The official numbers are not in but Super Bowl 42 beat all previous records for viewers as well as the amount of money bet on the game. The general betting public loves to bet on the favorites and with the Patriots being favored by 12 points and going for a perfect season, they were the popular choice. The over/under which is the total points scored by each team was 55 points. Many expected a high scoring shoot out. With the Giants keeping the ball for 10 minutes on the opening drive and only scoring three points it became apparent early that the under was going to be the winning bet. The Sports Books are happy today with the Giants upset win and so are many Miami Dolphins fans because the Giants denied the Patriots their perfect season.
The Simple Super Bowl system proved to be the winner with step one: Go against any team that did not cover the point spread in their Championship game. The Patriots won their game but did not cover the spread against the Chargers.
