Vacation Packages May Offer Best Deal

Thursday February 21, 2008
I was booking my airfare for an upcoming trip to Las Vegas and it was no surprise that the price of an airline ticket is much higher from my last trip because of the fuel prices. The airlines are also cutting back on the number of flights which means there are fewer options to choose from. Luckily I am still able to get comped rooms when I visit Las Vegas but many players are finding out that the casinos have tightened their criteria for comped and discounted rooms. There was a time when just belonging to the players club was enough to qualify for casino rate but those days are quickly disappearing.

Over the last year or so many of the casinos have focusing on the "hospitality" side of the business. They have found they can charge a premium rate for rooms they used to discount to the gamblers. However, all is not lost. There are still deals out there for a discounted casino vacation. Your best bet is to look into a package deal that includes your airfare and your hotel room. If you shop around you may be able to get your room and airfare for the price you would pay for just your flight. When you plan your next trip you make sure to price a vacation package. It might be the best deal.

I too just booked a vegas trip for June and noticed the same thing. One tip is usually when you sign up for the players cards at a casino, they will give you two cards. If you have a significant other who likes to play slots while you play tables, make sure they use the same card instead of signing up for their own account. Splitting comps between two separate accounts is just a waste. Once my wife and I started using the same players card, our comps grew faster than ever.

The above thought is smart and doesn’t require any further addition. It’s perfect thought from my side.
