WSOP Pre-Registration Open
Sunday March 16, 2008
Harrah's Entertainment announced that pre-registration for this year's World Series of Poker is now open. Tournament director Jack Effel said that no alternates will be seated at the 2008 WSOP so they are encouraging players to pre-register in order to guarantee their seats in this year's tournament events. Forms can be downloaded for the official World Series of Poker website.
The 39th World Series of Poker will run from May 30th through July 16th and include 55 bracelet tournaments. Buy-ins for the tournaments range from $1,000 - $50,000 for the H.O.R.S.E. tournament. The buy-in for the No Limit Texas Hold'em main event remains at $10,000.
Due to last July's Title 31 rule change, players who pay cash to enter events with buy-ins of $3,000 or higher will be required to provide their Social Security or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers. There are no exceptions players who do not supply them will not be allowed to register.
