The release of the movie 21 is sparking a new interest in the game of Blackjack and more specifically in card counting. The movie follows the exploits of a group of MIT students who played as a Blackjack team and utilized card counting to take the Las Vegas casinos for millions of dollars. By using card counting a Blackjack player can gain the edge over the casino. Card counting is not illegal but the casinos can bar players if they catch you. Here is how card counting works.

I was very disappointed to see that the blackjack tables at Harrah’s in Atlantic City had gone to 6:5 for blackjack payoffs and the dealer must hit a soft 17.
I hadn’t been there for a year and was shocked. I made my concerns shared with the mangagement. I won’t be back.
Those rule changes knock the heck out of the odds for the players.
I get the impression that casinos would be very happy if they could just have slots and nothing else.
Stay away from those 6:5 Blackjack games. It increase the house edge by 1.5%
