Casino Games on the IPhone

Sunday July 13, 2008
I love electronic gadgets so for me it was never a question of IF I would buy an IPhone but WHEN I would by one. Last year when Apple introduced the first version of the IPhone I decided I would not purchase one until they released the first hardware update. When the announcement was made in June that the new IPhone 3G would be released on July 11th I knew that I would be purchasing one. I was also very interested at the announcement that outside developers would be releasing games and applications that could be run on the IPhone. Given the popularity of casino gambling and poker I had a feeling that some of the games would be gambling related.

On Friday I got up at 5 am to head to my local AT&T store to stand in line and wait for the sale to begin at 8 am. I wanted to make sure that I got one. There were 12 people in line ahead of me and an hour later there were about 50 people waiting. The rumor was that this store had 80 for sale so it would not take too long to sell out all they had.

Three hours later I was heading home with my IPhone. I knew there would be a learning curve but with the help of some basic IPhone tips from my fellow About Guides I was able to quickly get up to speed.

The day before the IPhone went on sale I received a press release from Griffin Technologies announcing their 5 Card Touch video poker game for the IPhone that would be available in the Apple applications store when it opened on Friday. It was the first game I downloaded when I got home but I also purchased several others including a Texas Holdem game with great graphics. I am in the process of reviewing the gambling related games for the IPhone and in a few weeks I will publish my findings. So if you have an IPhone be sure to check back here for my IPhone game reviews and if you find any programs you like post your suggestions.

I was really looking forward to the first real iPhone casino, but I am a little bit disappointed now. All slots casino have relesed the first live version now. While it looks really good and you don’t have to download anything from the app store, it first and foremost lacks the sound ability and is a little bit funny to play. Everything is happening in the browser window and it needs to reload quite a bit. Have a look for yourself. What do you think?

I disagree – I had a great time playing blackjack on the All Slots iphone casino. The screen was much cooler than on a mobile. I didn’t run into any reload probs – maybe just luck. Well worth a try!

I didn’t experience any “reload” problems. Probably down to the fact that I only play via a wi-fi connection and not via a 3G connection.

While the lack of sound made for a different gaming experience, it didn’t affect my ability to play the iPhone casino games. The lack of sound simply makes for an “odd” iphone gaming experience when compared to the games you can download to your iPhone.

I agree with Sharyl, allslotscasino rocks. Been playing it for some time now, mostly the free version. On if you tap iphonepoker.se on your iphone/ipod you can go directly to the game you want to play.

Just discovered allslots casino last week and can’t take my hands off it. They have also released a new slot lately. It’s great user experience and a cool way to get around the appstore.
