Florida Supreme Court Reverses Governor
Monday July 21, 2008
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Florida has been running Blackjack and other casino table games since June 22nd after making a compact with Governor Charlie Crist. The Florida Supreme court ruled 7-0 that the games were not legal because the Crist did not have the authority to make the deal without approval of the Florida Legislature.
The tribe is appealing the decision and they will be able to continue operating the games until all appeals are exhausted.
