Give the Gift of Knowledge

Friday November 28, 2008
The day after Thanksgiving kicks off the holiday shopping season and it is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. The press and media refer to is as "Black Friday" because it is a day when retailers make money from large sales, many of which are held early in the morning when most sane people are still sleeping off their meals and drinks from the previous day's celebrations. I don't have any desire to get up early to fight the crowds at the local stores and shopping malls in order to save a few dollars. I prefer to sleep in and then head to the poker room at my local casino. However over the last few years I have found that the casino is almost as crowded as the shopping mall on Black Friday so this year I skipped the casino and did most of my shopping online. It was a lot easier and I got to watch a few football games at the same time.

The hardest part about shopping is trying to find the right gift for the people on my list. Luckily many of them share my interest in casino gambling and there is a wide variety of products on the market including books and tutorial software that will help make them better players. If you have someone on your shopping list who enjoys gambling why not give them a gift of that will help them win the next time they visit the casino. Gambling related books, tutorial software an instructional DVDs make great gifts.

You have a good suggestion for gifts. My son occasionaly goes to casinos and I’d like him to be a smart player. He’s playing blackjack, craps, baccarat and video poker mainly. Do you have any specifice books and software to recommend? (I have “The Winner’s Guide to Casino Gambling: Fourth Edition” by Edwin Silberstang that I use myself. A pretty good book in my opinion. What is your opinion of this book, if you know of it?)
