Mohegan Sun Offers $5 Blackjack 24/7
In the past year many regular players have been staying away from the casino because with the weak economy they don't have the money to play at the limits they normally play at and since there are no lower limit tables they just stayed away from the casino all together. The casinos have noticed the decline in business and one in New England is responding in a positive way.
Last week I received a press release from the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT announcing the opening of a new low limit area that will offer lower limit table games for the players. This area will be dealing $5 Blackjack games 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"We are extremely excited to be opening this new low-limit gaming area for our guests," said Mitchell Etess, President and Chief Executive Officer for Mohegan Sun. "Even in a downed economy, people are looking for ways to enjoy themselves and offering a lower-limit bet helps to do that. It removes the intimidation factor and lets people who might be interested in the game actually have the opportunity to give it a try as most people just starting out are not comfortable placing a high bet."
It is too bad that it took an economic meltdown to make the casinos aware that there are many low limit players out there who would love to play but cannot afford higher limit tables. This idea to offer the lower limit games even on the weekends is certainly a smart and innovative idea by the Mohegan Sun and it shows that they are listening to what the players want. I hope that other casinos around the country will adopt this idea.

They have $5.00 tables at the Isle of Capri in Lake Charles, LA as well and Coushatta in Kinder, LA.
So true! The greedy corporate owners are turning off players by taking the fun out of gaming for the sake of maximizing their profits. The players have gotten wise and are responding by staying away from the casinos.
How about the rules? Are they bringing back s17? Of course, if five dollars is still too much, you play online for just a buck!
It’s too bad that it took an economic downturn not seen since the depression to make at least one casino see the light.
