Problem Gambling Awareness Week
Tuesday March 3, 2009
The National Council on Problem Gambling has designated March 1 - 7 as 7th Annual Problem Gambling Awareness Week. The grassroots campaign is intended to educate the public and health care professionals about problem gambling and raise awareness that help is available, both locally and nationally. If you or anyone you know may have a problem with gambling you can contact their national hot line at 1-800-522-4700.
If you are not sure if you have a problem, Gamblers Anonymous has a list of twenty questions for anyone who feels they may have a gambling problem. I have received permission to reprint them here and I urge everyone to take a moment to read through the questions.
