No Free Parking in Atlantic City
The class was held at the Atlantic City Sheraton and I had to park in the nearby garage at the train station. It cost me $19 a day to park my car for the three days I was there for the class. After we got done setting up on Friday I drove over to the Taj Mahal Casino to play some poker. When I drove into the parking garage the sign said that the parking rate was $10 but if you had a Trump player's card it was five dollar. At the Taj Mahal garage, you have to pay when enter so I explained to the cashier that I was a member of the player's club but I had just arrived and forgot to bring my card with me. In a very rude manner she said, "If you can't show me a card it's $10."
I paid the $10 and over the course of the next two days I paid another $5 at the two other casinos I visited. I paid a total of $77 in parking during my stay in Atlantic City.
The Atlantic City casinos are "crying the blues" about the decline in visitors but it does not seem like they doing much to entice people to come and play. Atlantic City is the only place I have visited where they charge the players for parking. The room rates are high and many of the people I encountered were rude. I am in no hurry to make a return visit and I have no sympathy for their economic problems. I much prefer to go to Las Vegas if I want to travel or stay home in Connecticut and play at Foxwoods or the Mohegan Sun. At least I don't have to pay for parking before I play.

I know you were there for a purpose but this “Horror Show” begs the question…”What player would go to Atlantic ‘gouge’ City. Hit them where it hurts…their pocket book.
yes it’s true but fair
, i play and stay in ac monthly.it’s unbelievable the number of people that JUST PARK AND GO TO the beach instead of paying a parking lot . go down when the air show is there ,you will see what i mean.all the beach chairs coming out
no gambling there , why should the players play for these people.pay to park if you play your money will be refunded to you.otherwise you free loaders take our parking slots, which we pay for by our gambling….
Not sure if they still have to charge for parking in Atlantic City, but the legislature in Jersey and the city itself institutes profit sucking laws when they need more money from the gamblers.
As for the rudeness…it’s Jersey…what more can you say. I was there during the 10 inch snowfall a couple of months ago and employees of Harrah’s couldn’t all get to work. Administrators were doing commoner’s work. The gentleman who seated us in the buffet was very courteous as was their desk personnel. They are members of a small club however.
The AC casinos impose a parking fee because it is the law.
“Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 5:12-173.2, a charge shall be imposed for the use of a parking space for the purpose of parking, garaging or storing a motor vehicle in a parking facility or property owned or leased by a casino hotel or by any person on behalf of a casino hotel.”
Get a receipt the next time you pay. If you travel to another casino, the receipt will allow you to park on the same day for free.
I am by no means a high roller. $50-$100 per trip plus those joining me. If you don’t want to give your parking away to the “beach only” people then send me a few free parking coupons. Hey, at my rate of play I am not asking for rooms and dinners for 4, just parking.
