Record Craps Roll Set In Atlantic City

Wednesday May 27, 2009
Every craps player dreams about having a long roll when they are playing. On Saturday, May 23rd, Patricia Demauro, saw that dream come true when she set a new record for the world's longest roll craps roll. She rolled the dice for four hours and 18 minutes at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. Borgata officials say she beat the previous record by one hour and 12 minutes.

Stanley Fujitake of Honolulu set the record nearly 20 years ago at the California Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas when he rolled for three hours, six minutes. "This was only my second time playing craps, so this was very exciting for me to be a part of history," said Demauro, who lives in Denville, New Jersey.

According to reports, Demauro bought into the game with only $100. Nobody will say how much she won on this record breaking roll but many of the experienced players I talked with today speculated that she did not win a lot of money. Most of the time an inexperienced craps player will have a long roll but they will not make very much money. This is because they don't know how to press their bets to take advantage of the long roll. I once saw a player roll the dice for over an hour and all he had was a five dollar pass line bet with not odds. He made six points and won a grand total of $30. Congratulations to Patricia for her record setting roll. I just wish I was at the table when she was shooting.

You and I both. Other question I have is: How much did the Borgata lose? AC casinos are struggling. This was one of the biggest nights of the year.
I’ve been surprised how fast money piles up when the table goes my way. I could see players cashing out for a million $ or more, after 4 hours and 18 min.
May show up in MGM and/or Boyd’s financials.

Does anyone know what the table limit was for this table that nite?

My husband and I are experienced craps players. We increase our bets when winning and have won big amounts in the past. We thought that she wasn’t increasing her bets and might not have won that much money for being an inexperienced player. We were once at a table in AC where the shooter who was on a hot roll was betting five dollars and no odds. The stickperson kept asking him “five odds, sir?” and he didn’t even flinch. He too, won very little. Sounds like we were at the same table!
