Joining the Club

Joining the club is an easy thing to do these days. Even if you aren't physically at the casino to join their player's club in person, many properties offer you the option to join at their web sites!

That seems crazy to me, but it's all about the marketing, right. Sign up and get the mailers - get your card, get the good stuff. I'm a joiner. I admit it. I'm probably the easiest guy in the world to sucker into joining a player's club because I always think the freebies are going to be easy to get. Some aren't, but I've just gotta know.

The last few clubs I joined were pretty good. I made it down to Fort McDowell Casino which is outside of Scottsdale, Arizona the other day. I walked in the place and the poker room supervisor on duty greeted me to the room, told me I needed a card for the night's tournament, pointed me in the right direction, and I was back in five minutes. I got twenty bucks for joining, spent it on the tournament, and the supervisor bought me dinner just for being a newbie there. Nice, even if I didn't cash in the tournament!

The Riverside in Laughlin, Nevada gave me $50 and three free nights in the hotel for my next trip after I joined and played a little blackjack. Very nice!

It really does pay to join the clubs, and you never know what they are going to offer you in the future. The third club in the photo is from the Cannery, where joining the club got us several easy to redeem freebies, like Snuggie blankets, for a tiny amount of slot play. We were treated great in the pit also, and food comps were easy to earn.

As for the Gold Advantage club, well, that's from the Avi, and renewing my card there was good for several coupons like match plays, first-card aces and more.

Casinos want your business. Join the player's clubs and get the benefits, and don't feel bad about getting some freebies, they can afford it. And, don't feel bad about not visiting the clubs that don't take great care of you! It's a player's market right now.
