Poker Comps

It's not just table games and slot machines that offer comps these days! Poker players offer loyalty to a poker room, help fill games, provide a valuable income to the property, and expect something for their action too.

While many rooms offer a free-roll tournament or a jacket or hat for certain levels of hourly play, most rooms also offer a little something in the way of cash or comps. A buck an hour is a reasonable benchmark.

At Lake Tahoe, the Montbleu offers just that, $1 an hour. Down the street at South Shore the Lakeside Inn offers $25 in free slot play for every $1,000 cumulative live game buy-ins.

In Reno, the Atlantis has a very nice room and also offers $1 an hour, but across town at the Grand Sierra players get $2 per hour of live play, and the Pot of Gold Tournament starts December 1st.

Laughlin

In Laughlin, Harrah's offers Total Reward members Reward Credits for their play. Down Casino Drive at the Colorado Belle, players earn $1.25 an hour and at the Riverside the poker room players get $5 cash for three hours of play each day.

Vegas

There's nothing wrong with expecting something for your action. So don't be afraid to ask. Here are some rates:

  • Orleans $1.25
  • Cannery $1
  • Boulder Station $1 but $3 3AM to 9AM
  • Golden Nugget $10 for four hours daily
  • Wynn $1
  • Bellagio $1
  • Aria $2 and $3 from 5AM to 10AM

As you can see, rates all over town vary. Most rooms offer about a 35 percent discount off standard hotel room rates for a minimum of four hours of play also.

Arizona

In Scottsdale, the Talking Stick Resort offers .25 cents per hour, but a $5 food comp is available for four hours of play (daily) and the meals in the poker room have a special menu with great prices. Fort McDowell has a smaller room, but offers $1 an hour (food or cash).

Gila River casino using your Player's Club Card pays bonus bucks on Aces Cracked and High Hand promotions and also offers half-price meals off the poker room menu.

Foxwoods will give a $10 food voucher after 6 hours of play but you need to ask. They will also give discouted room rates. When you call the front desk with a “usecode” that gives a nice 30%-50% on rooms during promotions.

How about a shotout for the casinos on Pahrump Nev. A great place for gaming fun and relaxing. Liberal comp’s offeded. No split pot bingo and 1 to 6 anytime holdem poker.

The Golden Nugget in downtown LV offers a 10-dollar food credit after four hours of play-not cash(as of March 2011). It’s good for the buffet or snack bar. I used to go to the snack bar because the 10-dollar credit isn’t enough for the buffet.
This is the best poker room downtown.

Thanks for the note, El. I’ve had some good luck at the Nugget, and I’ve got a soft spot for any place my daughters love (because they can swim with sharks and ride the long slide into the pool).
