When I was a kid, there were casinos in Nevada and less than a dozen in Atlantic City, that was all. When I started playing in Reno and Las Vegas there were about 175 properties in the state, and less than 100 were full casinos. Now look at the US!
According to the 2012 American Casino Guide there are over 700 across 40 states now. I can't believe it!
If you love the history of casinos you may have read Dwayne Kling's book (The Rise of the Biggest Little City) about Reno or even Nevada's Golden Age of Gambling, but they don't have to contend with the hundreds of casinos listed in the American Casino Guide.
If you haven't ever picked up a copy, the author, Steve Bourie, does a great job of listing addresses, phone numbers, websites, games available and even directions for the casinos listed. It's really quite a feat.
In addition, the $18.95 book includes more than $1,000 in casino coupons. Not a bad deal. You just might want to pick up a copy. Buy Direct
