Dean asked for a shout-out about Pahrump, Nevada a few days ago - consider your request answered!
I've only been to Pahrump a couple times because it's in the middle of nowhere. Of course there are plenty of other casinos in Nevada I've been to in towns like Ely, Austin, Fallon, ah, the list is long because the state's this big (huge) and I'm this small in my car (tiny), you do the math.
Anyway, Pahrump is about 60 miles north west of Las Vegas. If you are already in Vegas (wait, why would you leave?), take highway 160 into Pahrump, or if you are traveling between Vegas and Reno, take the same highway (remember, 160!).
If you were stuck in Barstow, California, then Pahrump might sound good, and you could take highway 15 and turn onto 127 at Baker towards Death Valley and then grab 178 into Pahrump. Yeah, it's out of the way.
Any-who, if you find yourself with an urge to explore, Pahrump has seven casinos! And some wineries and a few brothels. Everything (apparently) is legal in the desert!
If you're in your RV, check out Terrible's Lakeside Casino Resort where the RV spaces face a really nice lake. And, the casino ain't bad either, with 340 slot and video poker machines and table games.
So, if you check out Pahrump, you'll probably find a lot of fun.

Never heard of it – I might explore it. You’ve peeked my interest. I just might retire there.
