In April, a lucky Pai Gow player won $260,000 at the Eastside Cannery Casino on Boulder Highway in Las Vegas by betting the jackpot feature fro $1 and then finding the winning 7-card straight flush in their hand. Everybody knows that beating Pai Gow is a lot of fun, but when you win a quarter of a million dollars at it, the game is phenomenal. The jackpot hit less than a month after the Cannery, Eastside Cannery, and Rampart casinos linked their progressive jackpots and viola, a huge winner!
Well, when the Gila River casinos (Vee Quiva, Lone Butte, and Wild Horse Pass) in Arizona linked their progressive jackpots last month I mentioned the $250,000 offered was worth a shot, and it was. June is a lucky month for one happy Phoenix lady who looked down in shock at her hand, finally realizing she had hit the top prize of $278,000 for her 7-card straight flush. She says the money is a life-changing amount and she and her husband are going to move and "start-over."
Happily the back-up jackpots at Gila River casinos and the Cannery casinos are both right at $178,000 - that's some big incentive, and some big coincidence. I don't know what the odds of that happening are, but it doesn't matter, soon one will hit and there will be another happy winner. Might be me. I'll let you know.
