Lady Luck To Close For Renovations
Tuesday December 13, 2005
Downtown Las Vegas will be short one more casino. The Las Vegas Review Journal reported that the Lady Luck will be closing on February 12 for a year-long remodeling. Some people are questioning why the owners are closing completely instead of remaining open during the renovations. The Lady Luck will lay off its 684 workers during the renovations. There are rumors that the Lady Luck may not reopen. I only hope this is not true.
I enjoy staying in downtown Las Vegas. It's not flashy like the Strip but the games are good, the rates are low and the comps are easy to get. I have spent many hours at the Lady Luck and I would hate to see this casino gone for good. Only time will tell.

I agree the lady luck is a great place to stay if your are not into all the glitter on the strip. We always stay their and play games to the whee hours of the morning. I hope to see it reopen.
I have read now that the lady luck will be renamed, i feel so sad about that, it may sound silly but it just seems that nothing is ever as good once the name of a casino changes, soon i wont have a reason to go to vegas i will miss it but enjoy laughlin, which has changed also but i never felt the history idid when visiting down town vegas-we stopped going to the strip yrs ago-too many changes and not for the better in our opinion-thanks for letting me comment
I was in Vegas last weekend 8/25/2007. The Lady Luck was all boarded up and the building itself just looked bad. It does not look like there is any work going on there. The place was a ghost town. There is no way they could have that whole place up and running byt the end of 2007. I hope they re-open, I would hate to see such a famous landmark go to waste.
when will lady luck casino open?
