Oklahoma Ranks Third for Slot Machines

Wednesday October 24, 2007
When asked to name the States with the most slot machines, most people would correctly say Nevada and California but I'm sure very few would even consider Oklahoma as one of their answers. Surprisingly Oklahoma ranks third in the number of slot machines. In fact according to a study released by the gaming industry Oklahoma has one slot for every 79 residents. Casino gambling was approved in Oklahoma in November 2004. By the end of 2006 the State had 97 casinos with about 46,000 slot machines. Nevada leads the country in slots with 206,419 followed by California with 65,500.
