Wheel of Fortune Still Number 1

Tuesday March 18, 2008
The results of the eighth annual survey of slot managers were released last week. Slot managers from 135 casinos in 25 states surveyed by Goldman Sachs and 11 percent of those surveyed said that IGT's Wheel of Fortune was their most profitable slot game. Wheel of Fortune has been the top money maker several years but the percentage is down from the all time high of 38 percent in 2002. WMS' Monopoly Big Event and Monopoly Super Money Grab have been gaining popularity and are closing the gap on Wheels lead as top money maker.

I personally think Wheel of Fortune is one of the most obnoxious games on the casino floor. It seems as if they always have the volume cranked up to the maximum. I can't stand listening to the constant "Wheel of Fortune" every five minutes.

It is the chance of spinning the wheel that makes this slot profitable.
