Determine Table Limits

by Bill Burton
for About.com

All table games have a minimum and maximum bet that you can make at that table. You want to make sure you know what the limits are before sitting down.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: one minute

Here's How:

  1. Walk up to the table.
  2. Look for a plastic placard.
  3. Read the minimum and maximum bet for that table.
  4. If you don't see the placard, ask the dealer.

Tips:

  1. Don't try to make less than the minimum bet at a table.
  2. Don't play at a table with higher limits than you can afford.
  3. Most placards are color coded to the chip denomination of the chips.
