How To Determine the Winning Poker Hand

After all the cards have been dealt out you must decide who has the winning poker hand. For a game without wild cards do this.
Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: 1 minute or less

Here's How:

  1. Look at all the player's hands.
  2. Each player will use five cards for their hand.
  3. The player with the highest hand is the winner.
  4. Hands are ranked in descending order. Look to see who has the highest hand from the following list.
  5. Royal Flush. Ace, King ,Queen, Jack, Ten of the same suit.
  6. Straight Flush. Five cards of the same suit in sequence.
  7. Four Of A kind . Four cards of equal rank. (Example. 5d 5c 5s 5h).
  8. Full House. Three cards of equal rank and two different cards of equal rank. (Example: Three Aces and two sixes).
  9. Flush. Any five cards of the same suit.
  10. Straight. Five cards in sequence regardless of the suit. Example: 6d 7h 8c 9h 10s.
  11. Three Of A Kind. Three cards of equal rank. (Example. Three Queens or Three fives).
  12. Two Pair. Two cards of equal rank and two different cards of equal rank. (Example: Two threes and two nines).
  13. Pair. Two cars of equal rank. (Example: Two eights).
  14. High Card. A hand containing no pair is determine by the highest ranking card in the hand. The Ace is high deuce is low.

Tips:

  1. A sixth card is never used to break a tie.
  2. c = clubs,  d = diamonds,  h = hearts, s = spades
  3. Folding means to throw in you hand and give up playing that round.
  4. Make sure you know what you havein your hand before folding.
