Nevada Assembly Approves Internet Gambling Bill

After two days of political maneuvering the Nevada Assembly approved bill AB578 on Friday April 27th. AB578 is the bill that would authorize Internet gambling and establish the fees that casinos would be required to pay before taking their games online.

Under the guidelines of AB578 the fee for a two-year Internet gaming license is $500,000. The re is also w $100,000 application fee and those granted a license will be required to pay 6.25 percent state gambling tax on all winnings.

Even if approved and signed into law, the bill doesn't allow casinos to jump on the Internet. First, the Gaming Control Board must establish requirements for a license, a process estimated to take two years.
