Video Poker can be one of the best games that you can play in the casino. It can also be one of the worst games if you play by hunch instead of using the proper basic strategy, derived from the mathematics of the game. The Video Poker Wizard software programs will teach you the correct strategy for three of the favorite video poker games. All VP Wizard programs offer several different training options to help you learn how to play the game. You have the option of looking at a strategy chart when you practice or you can hide the chart and the coach will alert you if you make a mistake. The chart shows you all the combinations of hands that can be made from the cards your are dealt and the expected value of holding each different combination. This program will also allow you to print a strategy chart to take with you to the casino. You also have the option of playing with or without the Coach.

When you play using the coach, you will be alerted if you have not made the best play. If you hold the cards that are not the best option the coach will tell you its not the best play and you will be asked to select again. You can also choose to have the program beep when you make a mistake. It's like having a personal coach looking over you shoulder alerting you to any mistakes you may make. The more you play the more you will learn. 

When you play without the coach you can test your speed and accuracy. There is an option that allows you to select how may hands you want to play before your play is analyzed. You can choose from 10 to 200 hands. After the select number of hands is played the screen displays:
Number of Errors. 
Accuracy in percentage. 
Speed measured in hands per hour.

A third option lets you identify the hands you are dealt. You then make your choice as to which holding will give you the greatest return. This is a feature unique to this program which I think most players will find very helpful.

The only negatives that I found with this program is not being able to use the keyboard keys when playing the game. You have to use the mouse to make you choices. This is a minor flaw that some players may not even consider a negative. The other negative was the fact that only one game is offered in each program. This however is offset by the price of the programs.
