Poker Pages has done more to promote poker and educate players than any other site on the Internet. They are deserving of the Best of the Net award for the Poker Category.

PokerPages.com is the brainchild of Mark and Tina Napolitano. They launched Poker Pages in March 2000 to fill the void for an online poker information site. In addition to the poker information you can also win an entry in this years World Series of Poker.

It was one year ago that I decided to learn how to play Texas Hold'em and share my learning experiences here with you on this site. The number one thing I discovered about poker is that no matter how much you learn, there is always something else you need to learn about the game. Poker, like life is an ongoing educational endeavor.

I try to read or learn something about poker every day. When I'm not reading books I make sure to read magazines like Card Player and Poker Digest. Both of these publications have knowledgeable writers who I have learned from. When I found the Poker Pages.com I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they had enlisted some of my favorite writers like Lou Krieger, Jan Fisher, John Vorhaus and others to write columns for the site. Whether you are a novice or an expert you can learn from the outstanding articles on the site.

Poker Pages supplies more than just articles. They have a complete poker room directory where you can find information on card rooms anywhere in the world. You will also find a comprehensive list of upcoming major tournaments. Poker news, history, information as well as quizes and other interactive activities can be found on the site.

There is a special section devoted women poker players including a forum where women can share their views and ideas. Susie, Isacs, Debbie Burkhead and Kathy Liebert deal with issues and techniques of special interest to women players.

In the near future, Poker pages will be launching Poker School Online. This is the next phase in their mission to educate players and help them improve their skills. Their Mission statement says, "Our ultimate goal is to produce World Series of Poker Champions for the future. It is our aim to help you, the student join the elite and become one of the winners during this fascinating time for poker."

Poker Pages has taken a big step toward promoting a future World Champion. You can now play online against other players for free. Not only can you play online in side games, but they are holding a tournament and the winner will receive a $10,000 entry into this Years World Series Of Poker. It could be you!
