Big Top Circus was created for Sigma by the creative geniuses at High Five Games. It is the first in the Select-A-Symbol Series and features the patent-pending Connect-A-Pay Technology which offers 99 possible winning combinations per spin. Here is how it works.
With Connect-A-Pay, the player selects between one and nine of the games symbols instead of choosing pay lines. Players can bet up to five coins on all the selected symbols. Since adjacent symbols can appear on any of the lines the matrix offers 99 winning combinations. Each symbol can belong to more than one pay set making it possible to hit the top prize twice in the same spin. Six of the symbols pay out for 3 or more adjacent symbols and three of them only require two adjacent symbols. Because of the pay structure and 99 ways adjacent symbols can be made, the frequency of hits is 46.41 percent when you select nine symbols. This means an average of one hit for every 2.15 spins.
The games Ringmaster and mascot is Max the Monkey, a highly animated 3D character who acts as cheerleader and amuses you with his antics. He also plays an important role the games three bonus events. One bonus appears in the main game and two of them are incorporated into the secondary screen bonus.
Balloon Bonus
The Balloon Bonus occurs when a balloon symbol land on the fifth reel. Max spots the balloons as they Millions of people love the circus. The player can earn up to 10,000X the symbol bet for any new Connect-A-Pay created by Max moving a symbol. If he can not find a symbol to move the player still receives a bonus of 1X the total bet.
Trapeze Bonus
Three Big Top Tickets showing up anywhere on the screen triggers the secondary screen Trapeze Bonus. You jump Max from rung to rung on the trapeze to collect bonus credits which can be 2X to 70X your total bet. You can move him forward or backwards. Once Max makes his first jump you will see a number of credits on the rung going forward and a ? on the rung you just jumped from. The ? is a mystery number of credits. If max falls into the safety net during one of his jumps the bonus rounds over. Or maybe not! There is a surprise that sometimes happens from time to time during this bonus round that I will not reveal.
Cannon Bonus
The cannon bonus is triggered when two cannons appear anywhere on the screen. You are taken to the secondary screen where Max climbs into a cannon and signals the you to fire the cannon that propels him across the screen where he land in one of the piles of bananas. You collect bonus credits from 3X to 25X your total bet depending on which pile Max lands on.
