Take Advantage of Promotions
Two or three times a week my mail box contains offers from casinos that I have visited in the last year. I have also been receiving some offers from casinos I have not visited in a few years. They must be mining the data base from their players clubs for anyone who previously signed up for a card. I’ve received offers for free nights at some luxuries casinos where I have not given them enough play to rate a free buffet let alone three free nights in mini-suite. Although I don’t have plans to visit then at this time I put all of the offers in a separate folder just in case the opportunity arises and will keep them until they expire.
The offers I get from my local casinos are more valuable because I can easily get away for few hours or a day if they promotion is worthwhile. I’ll consider promotional offers such as triple points or cash back but invitations to “special drawings” are usually not worth the time or fuel to make a trip to the casino.
The casinos have also been cutting costs by using e-mail to send out special offers. You can get on the casino’s e-mail list by signing up on their site or supplying your e-mail address when you sign up for a player’s card. During my last visit to Las Vegas I noticed several promotions offering bonus points simply for updating your e-mail address in your account information.
Plan Your Visits
Because of the economy, many of us will be visiting the casino less than we have in the past so it will be important to get the best value for our money. You can do this by shopping around looking for deals on the casinos’ websites or some of the other discount travel sites.
Because travel is down, many airlines are joining with the casinos to offer package deals that combine a hotel room and airfare to give you savings on both. These packages sometimes include shows and other discounts that will save you more. In many cases you will be able to pick up a package for the price that you would pay for airfare alone.
If you only take day trips to the casino it is still a good idea to plan your visits in advance. Some of the fun and excitement of a vacation, holiday or big event is the anticipation leading up to the special day. By planning you casino visits in advance you will have something to look forward to hopefully enjoy the excitement as the day approaches.
Save a Little Each Week
Whether you are going for a day or several days, having your casino visits planned in advance will allow you to set aside a few extra dollars a week to spend on your trip. Whenever you go to the casino you should know in advance how much money you are going to spend on gambling. By planning your trip in advance you can calculate how much money you need to set aside each week to meet your goal.
Even if you don’t know when you will be visiting the casino, now is a great time to start setting aside a few dollars each week into casino fund. This way you will have the money to take advantage of a great promotional offer or if you just want to get away for a trip to the casino. If you plan ahead and save a little each week you should still be able to enjoy our favorite pastime and you might just find some bargains along the way.
