I was shooting dice recently when a fight broke out at the craps table I was on. Well, a baseball fight, because players were screaming at each other, pumping their fists in the air and hitting nothing, and eventually two players who never hit anyone were thrown out of the casino.
The sad part is, it never had to happen. If the dealer say's, anybody want to bet "eleven" on the come out roll," nobody cares, but when the stickman looks at you and says, "Hey shooter, any more on eleven, any moron eleven." Well, you can be mad.
The Point of This StorySo the dice are choppy, there are some short hands but nothing really good, and there are as many players on the pass line as on the don't pass - which means everybody is losing and everybody is edgy. A shooter finally gets things going, four passes and about 20 rolls, so the "don'ts" are getting anxious, and the shooter is getting even. But, he doesn't like the fact that the dealer won't return the dice on his "number." He's told the stickman not to turn over the dice and the stickman keeps doing it, so now the shooter is mad.
Next roll, the stickman leans across the table, calls the number on the dice and brings the dice back to the center where he uses the crook of the stick to turn the dice over once or twice. He does this to check and make sure the dice are the same ones he originally sent the shooter. That's right, shooters have been known to change the dice to a pair of their own!
Sounds crazy, but it happens, and the stickman gets canned if the dice get switched. That's right - the stickman and probably the whole crew, including the boxman.
So the shooter complains again, the stickman ignores him, the boxman ignores him, the shooter says he won't shoot, and all the other players scream at him and the dealers. Except me, because I'm a professional (that's a joke of course, I'm loosing).
Now the stickman comes to life and yells at the shooter to fire away, the boxman mysteriously awakens from his coma and yells at the stickman, and the shooter finally throws - a seven-out (line away, pay the don'ts, pay the last come). Which of course he blames on the stickman for fiddling with the dice, and the guy on the hook of the table tells the shooter to shut up. The shooter, or ex-shooter, having now lost his chips decides to also loose his mind, and he grabs the guy in a headlock and they both hit the floor, nearly toppling my drink - I mean it was close!
Pretty soon there are legs sticking up above the table, then arms, then security gets there and I swear nobody got hit by a punch, but both players get 86'ed from the club and can't play there anymore.
What a waste. Well, it's for the best, I got even after they left.

Only a moron would think that the way the dice are retuned would make a differance. Maybe he should stick to the Big 6 wheel & pitching pennies in the parking lot. Whatta jerk…
Nice Article – I’ve seen a lot of name calling at the crap table
but never a fight. I wish I had been there.
I often will play on the Dark Side and can count 3 occasions where a player verbally berated me for my choice of bet. No blows were thrown, just a little mouthing off. In all 3 occasion the loudmouth was young, southern and drunk.

AH, the Dark Side. It’s funny, but players hate to have somebody betting specifically against them. I recall Harold Smith, owner of Harold’s Club in Reno, saying that just one player rooting against what everybody else at a craps table wanted was dangerous. He claimed the dice had ears.
Haha, that’s an awesome story.
Where did this happen? In Vegas?
I have never seen a fight at the craps table myself but I can imagine that the wrong way bettors are making some people upset.
