Las Vegas Bandit Props

Follow me on:

Las Vegas has often been the place to find strange prop bets, like who will fumble first in a football game, or whether a movie will get an Oscar nod. Now, it seems the tables have truly been turned on the city in the desert.

Youwager.com, a First Fidelity Company, is a fully licensed and government regulated Sportsbook and online casino located in San Jose, Costa Rica. The company claims to have been around since 1994 and to have over 200 employees. Of course I'm not promoting online gaming - which is illegal in the US, based on the Wire Act.

The Wire Act was originally enacted in 1961 to prevent bookmakers from accepting sports bets over the telephone. The language could not possibly have included anything that sounds like Internet gaming, but new laws have been passed to try and cover the bases the US Government wants to secure to keep its citizens from participating in online gaming.

Now that we have that bit of editorial out of the way, lets get back to turning the tables on Las Vegas. Oh, yeah. So, the motorcycle bandit of Bellagio fame hasn't been heard from and there are no arrests yet, but there is some other action. Betting action to be exact.

My friend, Aileen, tells me that the aforementioned Youwager is accepting bets on things like "Regarding the $1.5 million stolen from the Bellagio, will an arrest be made before December 31" and "Will the Helmet wearing gunman rob at least 2 more casinos by year end."

If that's not a twist on gaming and Las Vegas - then I just don't know what is. Of course if I had to bet, I'd probably go against both of those propositions. What do you think? Any US casinos offering bandit props?

Have a fun week.

“Before we can say Donner Party, it’s a whiteout “…that is hilarious, I hope others understood the comment!
I went with Joe Harrel’s class on a field trip to the Donner Party site in Truckee.
It was a great read, very funny stuff! Shameless postings on FB….Roy
