Poker Legends Coming to New York City on Jan. 5
The World Series of Poker Circuit will launch Jan. 7 at Harrah’s Atlantic City. It marks the first time the World Series of Poker, the largest and most prestigious event of its kind, will host an event outside Las Vegas. The Atlantic City Circuit events, which are open to the public, run through Jan. 18. Additional Circuit events will be hosted throughout the year at Harrah’s Rincon, just outside San Diego; the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas; Harrah’s Lake Tahoe; and Harrah’s New Orleans. The Circuit culminates with the legendary World Series of Poker, which runs from June 3 to July 15 in Las Vegas.
To commemorate the tournament’s historic expansion, the top pros are coming to ESPNZone in Times Square to meet fans of the game and host a series of tutorials between 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. In addition to mingling with the pros, poker enthusiasts can watch a high-stakes charity tournament in which invited members of the media will be competing for a share of more than $10,000 in charitable donations. The media event begins at 11:30 a.m. and will run until about 2 p.m. Read more from CardPlayer Magazine.
