A Winning System Part 4 - "Bob Dancer Presents WinPoker"
In A Winning System Part 1, I gave you an overall view of three products to help make you a winner at the casino. In Part 2, I reviewed The Frugal Gambler by Jean Scott to help you learn about comps. Part 3 was a review of Dan Paymars Video Poker - Optimum Play a book that will teach you the basics of Video Poker. I will now concluded with a review of a "Bob Dancer Presents WinPoker" software by Zamzow, that will enable you to practice at home and learn to play without mistakes.
Winpoker was created by computer genius Dean Zamzow. It is a tutorial software designed to teach the user the proper play for different versions of video poker games. The first version was created over a year ago. Bob Dancer is a Video Poker expert who writes for publications like Casino Player Magazine, Strictly Slots, and Gaming Today. Bob approached Dean with a few dozen recommendations to improve Winpoker. The result of this collaboration is the most advanced and exciting video poker trainer on the market today called Bob Dancer Presents WinPoker.
Reading about Video Poker will give you a good basic understanding about the game and its proper strategy but to learn how to play correctly take a lot of practice. Getting your practice at the casino has two BIG drawbacks. Number one, its very expensive when you make mistakes. Number two, the machines at the casino do not tell you WHEN you have made a mistake.
When you play at home using the BDPW software you can choose the amount of help want from the program. There are five teaching modes: Auto-Hold mode holds the correct play for you. Warn, Test and Show modes allow you to hold the cards and WinPoker alerts you to an error (and the magnitude of the error) and No mode duplicates the Casino experience. During practice sessions, your play is evaluated. Youll know how much money your mistakes would have cost you and what percentage of accuracy you are achieving.
The graphics are excellent and the speed of the game is superior to anything presently on the market. Fifteen games are prepackaged, including all of the standards, plus some of the newer ones you wont find on many other computer trainers such as double double bonus, double double jackpot, and double joker poker. You can go between any of these games with the click of a mouse. The best or most common pay schedule is pre-programmed for each game, but you can change schedules very quickly.
Another feature lets you analyze new games quickly allowing you determine the payback percentage for the given pay schedule. This program copies the results of your analysis to your clipboard, in case you want to save information in word processing or spread sheet applications.
Other options allow you to play using the double up feature. You can choose whether or not you want sound or change the color of the cards if you like. The four-ple option allows you to play four hands at a time similar to Odysseys Quadruple Play.
This product will definitely pay for itself in the money you will save by not making costly mistakes at the casino. If I was told that I could only purchase one gambling product this year. I would chose Bob Dancer Presents WinPoker by Zamzow software. I almost forgot to mention the most important feature of this software... ITS FUN TO PLAY!!!
BDPW is designed to run on Windows NT or 95 or 98. It installs easily in less than a minute. Unfortunately Windows 3.1 and earlier users are out of luck. You can download a demo of this program to evaluate. Give it a try.
Until next time, remember:
"Luck comes and goes...Knowledge stays forever."
