The Addams Family Slot Machine

The Addams Family is the hottest new nickel slot machine game from International Gaming Technology. It has a progressive jackpot that resets to $100,000 after a player wins it by lining up five Addams Family Symbols. John Astin played Gomez Addams on the show and IGT was able to get him to lend his voice to the game. You will hear Gomez making remarks as you play the game. He will tell you that he had "The funniest nightmare." At one point he encourages you to "Push On." My favorite line comes when you cash out. He says, "Leaving So Soon? I was hoping you would stay for dinner. In fact, I was hoping you would be dinner."

There are three different versions of the game, each with its own unique bonus screen. They are Fry Fester, Market Madness and Pick to win. According to the Strictly Slots article I read, the games can be found in upright machines as well as slant top models. I only saw the banks of slant top machines with the Market Madness and the Pick To Win games. Uncle Fester must have been fried once to often or was on vacation.

In Market Madness a player advances to the bonus round after getting three market madness symbols. The bonus round finds Gomez siting at his desk He takes out some bills from his wallet and makes you an offer. The total is displayed. You can accept his offer or reject it. If you reject it the offer will be repeated four times. If you do not accept one of the first three offers you are stuck with the fourth and final one. It is possible to reject an offer only to find the next one to be lower than the one you rejected.

In Pick To Win, a player advances to the bonus screen by getting three of those symbols. You find yourself in a graveyard in front of the Addams' Mansion. There are four gravesites and each one has a dollar sign on it. You pick one of the sites at random. A ghoul will either pop up with a dollar amount or you will get a "next" or "collect" sign. Choosing the site with the next sign generates another four gravesites to chose from. When you finally pick the collect site, all the dollar amounts are totaled up and awarded as you bonus.

The bonus rounds are supposed to occur about every hundred spins. Unfortunately I was a little below average during my play. Here is what happened when I tried to take a walk in the graveyard.
